She is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the European Respiratory Society. With some 180 publications, her research interests include the control of ventilation, pulmonary gas exchange and muscle energetics during exercise in health, altered environments and disease and the methodology and applications of cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
